The Family Circle Cup announces Game, Set, Rock! Tennis. Amplified., an evening of music and tennis entertainment featuring John McEnroe, Jim Courier, Anna Kournikova and a fourth player, to be announced, participating in singles and mixed doubles action, as a new ticketed session beginning at 7:00pm on Saturday, April 17, 2010.  The Blue Dogs, Charleston’s favorite country, bluegrass, and roots-rock sons, will entertain the crowd throughout the event, and will conclude the evening with a special performance in Family Circle Stadium.  This exhibition is designed as the keystone of the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour Premier Event’s week-long celebration of its 10^th year in Charleston, and will supplement a strong player field.

“We are planning this night of fun and excitement to celebrate a decade of tennis in Charleston,” said Eleanor Adams, Family Circle Cup Tournament Manager.  “Our patrons have really enjoyed the mixed doubles exhibitions we’ve held in previous years, so we’re bringing some of the most exciting tennis celebrities to Daniel Island for this special evening session to be held during the finals weekend.”

Tickets for this special night of tennis will be available as a stand-alone ticketed session beginning at 10:00am on Friday, December 18^th, 2009 via Ticketmaster.com, Ticketmaster Charge-by-Phone (800) 745-3000, local Publix outlets, and at the Family Circle Tennis Center ticket office weekdays from Monday through Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm.  Box Level seating will be available for $35, Terrace Level for $25, and Grandstand for $15.
