The third annual Tomato Open
golf tournament, a benefit for the Edisto Island Open Land Trust (“EIOLT”), will
be held on June 25 at the Plantation Course. This year’s tournament will feature a “Million
Dollar Shootout” where one lucky golfer will attempt to hole a shot and win 1 million
dollars.Hole-in-one prizes include a
new Scout boat.There will prizes for a
putting contest, longest drive, closest to the pin, and a variety of other
raffle and auction items.
The tournament will be conducted
in the popular “Shamble” format.The
entry fee is $ 500.00 per team of
four golfers.Individuals and couples
are welcome to register and will be paired with other golfers.The entry fee includes breakfast, lunch and
on course refreshments.Teams can register
by contacting the Plantation Course at 843-868-1111. The deadline for
registration is June 22.
Festivities will begin with
breakfast at 8:00 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at 9:15 a.m. A silent
auction will be conducted throughout the day, and will conclude with cocktails
and light refreshments after play is completed.
